Dave
Thomas, the world famous architect, has masterfully created the
ultimate golfing experience. Nobilis Golf Resort has been created
within the natural pine forest that borders the Acisu River in Belek
on the south coast of Turkey.
The
opening three par four holes offer wide fairways but to make full
use of these fairways accuracy is of prime importance with your
tee shots. The 4th a medium length par three calls for spot on
club selection, with a par here nice to mark your scorecard. As
you play the next few holes along the Acisu River you arrive at
the relatively short 7th, safety and position off this tee will
set you up with a chance of having a short iron to this well protected
green that allows you no margin of error. Water and two greenside
bunkers awaiting anything other than an accurately hit shot. We
now turn back to the clubhouse with an excellent three shot par
five which calls for your third shot to be played over one of
the four lakes that help irrigate and keep the course in excellent
condition. On your walk past the clubhouse prepare yourself for
the Nobilis signature hole and believe us it is difficult to pick
one. The 10th par four (374 m), your tee shot needs to be positioned
between the bunker on the left and water hazard on the right hand
side of the fairway, decision time the green lies over the far
section of the water hazard with the stream on the right meandering
down to the lake ready to catch any wayward shot, to be on this
green in two shots certainly is a cause for celebration and convert
two more puts to your par has made many a happy golfer. The course
heads out towards the Acisu River and you play a series of holes
along the river. On your arrival at the 16th hopefully with your
score still intact get your best shot ready, this one shot hole
calls for all the qualities that those hours on the practice ground
have prepared you for club selection, accuracy and courage you
will certainly set yourself up for a rewarding last two holes
if you walk the 17th tee having marked a three on your scorecard.
The beautiful Roman style clubhouse awaits you a short pitch away
from the 18th green, where you can reminisce of what should have
been or could have been.
