The Bedesten carpet-weaving center offers a unique opportunity to watch each and every stage of a carpet being made, from the selection of the silk cocoon, through the spinning and weaving process to the final article. Visitors learn first hand the traditional lifestyle of the Anatolian people by watching them at work weaving and preparing the carpets that will a short while later appear in the center's store for sale. Bedesten specializes in fine silk carpets, each of them a work of art and an excellent investment potential. The tailor-made demonstration, available in a number of languages, can be organized to suit all sizes of incentive groups, and provides an excellent way to learn more about the folk crafts of Turkey. |
